Liverpool Steps Out Of Sanchez Signing Race

Liverpool has stepped out of their race in signing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona as the Chilean midfielder is appearing to be closer and closer to Arsenal and now the side of Brendan Rodgers is starting to look somewhere else for some of their targets.

Even though Liverpool is not likely on signing Alexis Sanchez, Brendan Rodgers is still trying not to fall behind in the transfer market as he has a number of other players that he is eager on adding to the team located at Anfield Road.

Lazar Markovic is a priority of Rodgers and a deal involving the Serbian winger of Benfica is on the works which is expected to be officially completed and announced within this week. If Markovic does indeed make his move to Liverpool, then he will be the 4th addition to the squad after having already signed: Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Emre Can.

If everything goes through the total transfer fee that Liverpool has utilized in this summer will go past the €60 million mark but the Premier League club might be willing on spending even more if Barcelona does sign the Uruguayan attacker with his price tag which is currently standing in the region of €70 million.

Markovic has also been approached by Chelsea but the Serbian player has revealed his intention of moving to Anfield where his chances of playing in the main team are far more likely and guaranteed compared to Jose Mourinho and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Divock Origi of Lille is a 19 year old star who has already represented Belgium at the international stage and it is believed that his impressive series of performances has been more than enough to convince Brendan Rodgers on making a move for him and considering that he only has a price in the region of €10 million, he is a viable option as a replacement of Luis Suarez if the Uruguayan does make his move to Camp Nou.
