According to Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool are interested in Ismael Bennacer as Jurgen Klopp wants a new midfielder before the summer transfer window’s closure. The Reds are expected to make a €40 million bid in the coming days despite the player having a €50 million release clause in his AC Milan contract. Liverpool may look ready for the new season after a tremendous display against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield. The team looks complete in every area on paper, although Jurgen Klopp could still look for new additions before the window shuts despite his recent comments.
The Merseyside club have brought in Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho in the ongoing window, but a new midfielder is being touted as the next target. Liverpool have not addressed the issue since Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure last summer, something they are keen to solve this summer.

Speaking after the Reds’ win over Brighton, Klopp was complimentary of Karius despite his recent shortcomings and believes the German can become a success during his time with the Black Eagles, he said: “I really think Loris is a fantastic goalkeeper at a very good age. A lot of people spoke to me about our improved defensive things, but as good as Alisson has been in the last three games, he was not here for the games before that, it was Loris in goal and he did a lot of good things. Besiktas have quite an experienced team so I think they have a good chance to win the league in Turkey, so that’s cool.”
