West Brom striker Mbaye Niang has received the seal of approval from Galatasaray teammate Ryan Babel in his quest to spearhead the relegation battle for his new team between now and the rest of the season. Mbaye Niang signed for West Brom on loan from Galatasaray and the Senegalese attacker has been able to breath life into the dwindling fortunes of the Baggies in the bid for Premier League survival.

MbayeNiang was a thorn in the flesh of the Manchester United players when the Baggies played hosts to the Red Devils at the weekend as West Brom boss Sam Allardyce was able to get his battling message across to his players. MbayeNiang scored his first goal for West Brom in the Premier League under two minutes via a header after he outmuscled Swedish centre back Victor Lindelof. West Brom fought hard to keep that advantage until Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes produced a moment of genius to score the equaliser for the Red Devils on the stroke of half-time.

Liverpool paid big money to secure his signature. The Reds paid €17.25m to sign Ryan Babel from Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. At the end of his Liverpool career, he had represented the six-time European champions almost 150 times. Ryan Babel had an attacking output of 22 goals and 18 assists in his 146 appearances for Liverpool. Ryan Babel was a decent player for the Reds during his time at Anfield but he was unable to win any silverware. He was at Liverpool until January 2011 when he left for German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim.
